By establishing regular dental check-ups and daily brushing routines, we can help optimise your child’s oral health and build confidence about seeing the dentist. In addition:
We are always happy to welcome new patients of all ages! Generally, we recommend making an appointment with the dentist for a check-up soon as your child’s first tooth starts coming through, within the first 12 months. Your dentist will advise you about choosing the right kind of toothbrush and toothpaste and show you how to brush your child’s teeth effectively.
For children, we recommend making regular appointments with the dentist every 6 months or so. A routine check-up is a convenient opportunity for us to assess the development of your child’s teeth and spot any potential issues early on. Importantly, coming to the practice with your children allows them to become familiar with the environment and build trust with our team of oral health professionals.
Knowing the treatment rooms, sitting in the chair and having their teeth and mouth and teeth examined by the dentist can minimise anxiety and increase confidence. Creating positive experiences at the dentist helps optimise dental care for children in their first years and all through childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
